Sledding Tailbone Injury

BBC airs its first Creative Commons licensed TV show

This comes via BoingBoing's Cory Doctorow : The Beeb is airing (or should one say: releasing) a CC-TV show, where CC stands for Creative Commons.

Show can be downloaded via FTP, where there are .ogg, Quicktime and Flash versions for your viewing pleasure. I don't know yet whether the show is any good (but I'm certainly going to find out), but the idea certainly is!

Thing was announced and can be reached via the BBC's backstage blog . So now, go spread the news and enjoy....

P.S. On a similar note: there is a brilliant talk by Professor James Boyle about public domain / commons to be found on the U-Channel . To quote the site:
In his new The Public Domain book, Professor James Boyle Describes How our culture, science and economic welfare all depend on the delicate balance between those ideas that are controlled and those that are free, between intellectual property and the public domain-the realm of material that everyone is free to use and share without permission or fee.

Jobs 15 Year Olds Brampton

What did the Romans really did for us?

Now we finally have our post-colonial debate: in the next two Sundays Terra-X shows the struggle for Germania. The Battle of the Teutoburg forest is as likely as usual entertaining processed with cuts faster than sound, dizzying camera movements and excited about running extras hordes. Furthermore - and the homeopathic information content - nobody wants to complain: this is television as it is often successful. And sometimes it's fun, too.

But the FAZ, it has now complained bitterly on its media page the features section, that the film presents the Romans as brutal occupiers who fall stupidly in spite of superiority in the woods to make the slaughter of "primitive" of the Germans, the otherwise small Because his agrarian life carries on. Because we feel on the part of the Terra-X approaches such as a lawsuit against the former colonial occupier? For what have the Romans ever done for us? The aqueduct? Oh please .... this is hardly more than an antiquarian Contaminated site, a residual carious former size, obstructs our best land. The Roman law? Well good, maybe this: although one or the other would the Germanic form of the like better over-persuasion . But otherwise? Perhaps then yes times, a broad debate about the guilt of the Romans in the bloody history of Europe due - including demands for economic aid.

Maybe not: after all, it all ended in a very successful version of the maxim "If you can not beat 'em, join' em", which the Roman Empire has finally blown out the light.

Oh by the way - by Sophia McDougall there Romanitas , a sometimes tried novel about a world in which the Roman Empire, the unwashed primitives has successfully pacified. No Dark Ages America and only a province ....

Promissory Note To Buy A House In Wa State

New webseries

now goes through the Trades ( here, here and Kress, too): there is a new webseries in the country soon.

one - for Myspace: the web series "We are Gösser as God," two mediocre musician named Lemmy and chicken, do it big. Thereby helping them to a bar where you are somehow taken. Since then, a club out of it will occur in which the sizes - with Lemmy & chicken as an opening act. Sounds exciting.
to see is the great fun from 7.4. on Myspace in 10 episodes, always on Tuesdays + Thursdays, produced by the daily soap producers Grundy UFA, sponsored by Mars candy bar (other delicious toothkillers are available).

and to another, the UFA subsidiary Teamworx produced for a Bild.de Comedywebserie under the working title "Up and Down", to loud DWDL play in one act. You can find an intern, a secretary, her boss, a young manager and an IT professional. Stromberg meets janitor Krause says DWDL. Stromberg meets Phone Booth would not be bad either. But we must be excited - if only on the elevator (perhaps with a bar and stuff?). A Sponsor is not yet - and no star forward on the Web.

UPDATE:
We are not now greater than God .... but only as United

Stuffed Suits in Switzerland

Davos - or rather the World Economic Forum just there - has been for years a call between Old Boy's Network Stuffed Suit Party (also known as OBN SSP known) and a refreshing interdisciplinary dialogue between brilliant people that would otherwise never meet.

I was not there in 2009 - belong neither to the OB's still one of the BM's - Ullrich Fichtner complained but the new mirror The Forum was
degenerated into a PR event, the assembled heads of large corporations provides the opportunity to shine their companies with great stories to polish without anyone contradict or interfere.

a relevant contribution Fichtner has yet been identified: Bill Clinton appoints his half-hour talk the problems of the global financial crisis, short and clear. And those who do not belong also to the OB's or BM's can see that now - and to discuss:

are not the only Clinton an almost personal insight into the pile of shit, you sit on , and expresses clear his view that we are there, even if the whole has been growing on the dung of the U.S., only together or not come out - it is to hear talk like a painful reminder of the lost 8 years behind on this side of us lie.
